Mommy showed me how to cook a whole chicken in the Ninja Foodi. We are fixing this for my sister…well, and me too.
First you place the chicken into the Cook and Crisp basket and place that into the pot. Add 1 cup of water.
Put the pressure cooker lid on the machine.
It’s a small chicken weighing about 3.5 pounds so 25 minutes of pressure cooking should do it.
Check the valve and make sure it is set to Seal. I nudged it with my nose to make sure it’s in the correct position.
When the cooking time is complete, quick release the pressure by moving the pressure release valve to Vent. Mommy didn’t want me to burn my nose so she did this step.
Mommy said the chicken is cooked but she wanted the skin crisped a bit since she planned to eat that.
Close the crisping lid and set the unit to Air Crisp with a temperature of 400°F.
11 minutes should do it.
Ta da!
Mommy stripped the meat from the bones and chopped it up. It’s all ready for my sister! I have to take a little taste and it is delicious!
Hope the new pups are doing well. We’ve expanded our furry family too – two German Shepherd pups (sister and brother). This is in addition to our four cats, and three barn cats. Yes, we are supporting the pet food industry nicely. 🙂
